I climbed Bonne Homme Horning varaition with Gene Jose of Devils Tower Lodge. It was the "water cooler" climb. This route is fun, take big gear. A standard rack with small to medium stoppers. Large cams protect the first 30-40" then small to medium stopper placements lead you to the Horning traverse. To protect the traverse place an orange Metolius cam in the slot on the colum face. The rest of the pitch is about movement from point of security to point of security, gear placements can take time and be sure to extend with dogbones. Yellow and red aliens and yellow, orange, and red Metolius cams are used. Those large cams will be used on either of the cracks above you. Have fun.
