Started the approach from the Visitor's Center at 7:30. Passed a group of 4 which put us first on Durance for the day. Great climb! Made a mistake on the 5th Pitch. From the belay station I took the left crack which put me groveling though an ugly offwidth and a hole between a separated column and a huge chockstone. Since the pitch is refered to as the chockstone crack I figured I was in the right place. Not until I writhed my way through this and on top did I look down and see the anchors down and right of me. I ended up downclimbing - what fun that was - back to the belay and in frustration with myself I had my partner lead the "correct" chockstone crack. Finished on the jump traverse. I think to do it again I would take the Bailey Direct and get another nice long pitch of climbing. Other than my "oopsie" it was a great climb and a great day!
