A stand-alone mountain in southern Provence. Its moonscape-like white summit is battered by the heat and the continuous Mediterranean winds from all directions, hence the name "Mont Ventoux", which means something like "Mountain with wind from all directions". It is surrounded by lush lavender fields and rich vineyards. You can reach the summit by car from three directions: Malaucène (north), Sault (east) and Bédoin (south).
