Zinalrothorn peak view from Tracuit Hut, south-west direction. It was 7:30 pm August 2001, the day before our climb to Weisshorn. Extreme right we can see Obergabelhorn. I climbed Zinalrothorn in july 1999 (c.f. summit log)
I took this photo climbing Zinalrothorn using Rothorngrat and traverse. It was 8:30 AM, about 4000m altitude, 1999 august 12th (my birthday...) We are looking South-West. On left in the distance we recognize Matterhorn 4477m, and on right we can see Ober Gabelhorn and its impressive icy North face.
july 30th 2004, 6 past 15, the morning after we summited Batian peak using north east route from Mackinder valley. On this photo we can see the whole highest part of the route, with Amphitheatre and Firmin tower upward on left center. Temperature was 7°C under zero.
View of Weisshorn North-East ridge back from the summit. It was 1:00 PM, August 2001. Extremely long and exhausting climb. Three on the rope is unusual for this ascent, in addition with a woman. Thanks to Sylvie and our guide Jean-Claude.
Arriving at Mackinder camp we had that marvellous view East direction, south east face of Nelion and its famous Diamond couloir and glacier. From left to right Batian, Nelion, point John and point Lenana on the clouds. It was 4:00 PM
Matterhorn-Cervin, view from the upper slopes of Cervinia, on the Italian side of the mountain. It was 8:30am. We have just started to walk, our goal for the day is to sleep at Carrel Hut, 3800m hight, located on the ridge, right in the midle of the photo.
Back from Kili, August 11th, I have been lucky enough, on the plane to Amsterdam, shoting this picture. Above all having climbed Matterhorn one month earlier. View east direction, the Lion ridge and Zermatt in the distance.
