There are two main routes to the summit from the "teleférico": 1) "por el arenal" -hiking and scramble- and 2) por las agujas -basic rock climbing-. Crossing "el paso de la muerte" in a safe way on "ruta de las agujas". - Cotopaxi

August 17th 2008. There was a full moon night with completely clear sky until 5h:30 then came the storm. At 6h:20 we were on the summit, completely frozen as you can see, after battled with furious wind, dense mist and needles of ice flying in the air and smashing our faces. - Cotopaxi
