Description
Telescope Peak is the sentinel which overlooks Death Valley. Ancient bristlecone pines are scattered across its upper slopes, above the 10,000' level. Because the floor of Death Valley is below sea level and the summit rises above 11,000', this peak features one of the most extreme continuous elevation gains from base-to-summit of any mountain in the lower 48 states.
