We hit the trail at 11:45am. We arrived about 2.5 hours later in Carne Basin to get the area to ourselves. Later we headed to Carne Mtn (7085) to watch the sunset. We left camp at ~9am. We stopped at the top of the ridge and enjoy the Sun and wonderful views. We followed the trail down to the sign, (Leroy Cr HR not signed) and followed the unmarked trail going up hill. It crossed into the next basin and dropped about 200', then contoured along. We met three hikers doing the HR. We headed up when we were below the highpoint Ice Box (8112') at the first basin. We enjoyed the trip to the summit where we were presented with breathtaking views of the area (summit at 12:20pm). Ice lakes looked super. I had eyed another summit Chilly (7968) about 1 mile before Pomas Pass. So I took off for that at 1:10pm leaving the other to enjoy the views. I followed ridge a best as I could dropping and going around gendarmes (4th class). It took me 2 hours to reach the summit of Chilly (7968). This was a bit longer than I had planned. I spend 10 minutes on this summit. I dropped and headed for the top of the switchback on the Rock creek trail at 6150'. Enroute I found the old trail going to Pomas Pass about .3 miles before reaching 6150'. The top of the switchback is where the old trail meets. I don't think the tread is there any more from what I could see. I reached the top of the ridge one-hour later. We met two hikers coming off Carne Mtn. Back to camp at 4:50am, at the cars at 7:00.
