Breithorn (left half of the picture, "breit" means "broad") and Klein Matterhorn, the peak on the right side. View is from the North. The little bump on the right (east) side of Klein Matterhorn is the cable car station. There is a viewing platform on top of Klein Matterhorn.
There is an easy climb from the top of the cable car to Breithorn. For the half traverse, you walk around Breithorn on the south side, and you climb up a snow/ice field to the lowest point on the ridge about one quarter in from the left side. Then you follow the ridge
On August the 16th 1997 we reached the beautiful snow summit of the Breithorn (4.165 m). From left to right: Bernhard Fleisch, Marco Klocker, Rudolf Slanitz (Guide). In the background above the clouds the Matterhorn peak.
