Description
Jicarita Peak is near the northeast corner of the Pecos Wilderness. There are two major peaks over 12800' the taller is further northwest.
The easiest access is to come up Forest Road 161 ( south of El Rito off route 3) from the east. The round trip hike is just over 10 miles and passes Serpent Lake.
Bighorn Sheep and Elk may be seen along the way.
