Description
Great White Throne is a famous landmark located in Zion National Park at the north end of Zion Canyon. Its believed to be the largest sandstone monolith and is made of white navajo sandstone on top and red navajo sandstone on the bottom. Its steep north face abruptly rises a neck-craning 2400 feet above the valley floor. It wasn't climbed until 1967, and today there are many sporting technical routes. Great White Throne was named in 1916 by Methodist minister Frederick Fisher.
