Description
Comandante Cabot peak is located in Olivares range, south of Agua Negra International Road, in San Juan Province. It is situated 11km to the norwest of Olivares Central peak (6250m. Comandante Cabot peak hadn't any ascent like many peaks of this area. In December 19th, 2010, was climbed by Pablo David González. It was named "Comandante Cabot" in memory of an independence hero. Cabot crossed the Andes by the Guana Pass, located near the peak, two hundred years ago during the independence war.
Three or four days are necesary to climb the peak, starting at "Pircas Negras" (3800m) at the International Road.
