Description
Luzny, or Lusen in German, is one of the highest and most prominent peaks of the Bavarian Forest, or Sumava. It is located in Germany, but only several hundred meters from the Czech - German border. The summit of Luzny is covered by a stone field, the largest of such kind in Sumava. A couple of hundred meters below the top on the German side there is a small chalet. The summit offers wide views across the neighbouring ranges, nowadays covered by the ghostly forest to the great extent destroyed by a large scale bark beetle epidemic, plaguing the Sumava National Park lately.
