Description
Medjed (2287 m) is one of 48 peaks over 2000 meters in Durmitor national park. It raises directly above the Black lake (Crno jezero) and can be climbed from several directions on routes that start at the lake. All routes are well marked. The summit ridge is elongated in the north-east south-west direction and has several peaks. The mountain can be traversed from the south side (Struga, Velika kalica valley) towards Mali medjed peak (2170 m) and then along the ridge towards Juzni vrh (South peak) and Previja pass. From this point one can descend in the north direction to katun Lokvice.
Huts: refuge at Lokvice and bivouac in Velika kalica.
