Description
Ostspitze is the second highest summit in Switzerland. It is located on the west ridge of the Monte Rosa massif, between Dufourspitze (the Monte Rosa summit) and Grenzgipfel.
Monte Rosa hut is the nearest accommodation place. One is also allowed to camp at the Monte Rosa massif, but at one's own risk. The camping site is about one hour higher at the east side of the Monte Rosa hut.
One can use the Gornergrat train up to Rotenboden, before starting traversing over the Gorner glacier and towards the Monte Rosa hut.
