Stevens Peak

Description

Stevens Peak is located in Mount Rainier National Park and is part of the Tatoosh Range on the south flank of Mount Rainier. Isolated at the eastern end of this small range, Stevens Peak is a full day scramble. Stevens Peak is situated one mile east of Unicorn Peak and immediately north of Blue Lake. This mountain can be seen from multiple vantage points along the Stevens Canyon Road where local relief is 4000 vertical feet above Stevens Creek. Stevens Peak is named for Hazard Stevens who along with P.B Van Trump made the first documented ascent of Mount Rainier in 1870 with the assistance of native-American guide Sluiskin.
