Description
Pointe du Cret (3322 m) is a non-striking peak yet in a beautiful environment, attractive in view of Bivouac des Pantalons Blancs (3280 m) that is located just a few hundred meters of it.
Avoiding weekends will most certainly imply a night alone in the refuge, with both a wood stove and a gas cooker available, and plenty of snow outside for water. It has 17 sleeping places in a half-circle around the stove, wood available in the separate shed. No guardian; visitors spending night there are expected to drop 20 SF in the box on the wall. The route is a non-problematic walk from the dam of Lax de Dix, over Rochers du Bouc. The time needed from the dam is about 3:30 hours. Crampons are not essential.
