Gamsfeld

Description

Gamsfeld is the highest top of Salzkammergut mountains. The south-west slope is covered with meadows, the north-side, called " Wilde Kammer " is an extremely remote wilderness.

Passing the village Rußbach am Paß Gschütt ( 2667 ft) to the north you will find a tourist parking. On a steep but good path, passing pasture Traunwandalm to the top. 3 1/2 h.Descent on an other easy path passing Angerkaralm to Rußbach, 2 h.

From the top you will have a magnificent survey, especially to mount Dachstein and wide parts of Salzkammergut.
