Description

Cerro Platillón is the major altitude of Guárico State, at Venezuela. Cerro Platillón is a National Park located near the very well known National Park, Morros de San Juan, close to San Juan de Los Morros, capital of Guárico State. An easy climb that starts at El Castrero bathing site. A guard house can be reach by car. It is advisable to leave the car here and continue walking, although a road leads to the summit, where military antennas exist and a special permission is needed for access. Nevertheless the door of this installations can be reached and you will be practically at the summit! There is no water on the way up after the guard house.
