Description
The Schauinsland (1284 m) is a mountain in the Black Forest close to Freiburg im Breisgau.
In previous years the Schauinsland was also called "Erzkasten" due to the silver mining in the area.
There is a solar observatory, a Global Atmosphere Watch monitoring station, and the Eugen-Keidel Tower in the summit region of the Schauinsland.
