Description
Jerimoth Hill is the highest point in the U.S. state of Rhode Island. It is located in the western part of the state, near the Connecticut state line, and is a rocky outcrop at the edge of a clearing in the woods. The summit is owned by Brown University, but the approach requires a traverse of private property which has historically complicated access for "highpointers", hikers intent on reaching the summit of the 50 U.S. high points.
The adjacent property is under new ownership as of 2005, and visitors are welcome to visit the high point via a newly constructed trail.
