Description
Buckhorn Mountain offers perhaps the best views of any Olympic peak that has a trail to the summit. The views of Constance, Mystery, Deception, The Needles, and waters from the Straight of Juan De Fuca to the Puget Sound are excellent. On a clear day you can see the Cascade volcanos, too. Hike 5 miles to Marmot Pass via the Big Quilcene Trail. From Marmot Pass follow the trail up the slopes of Buckhorn Mountain to the summit. This hike is snow-free relatively early in the hiking season.
