Mount Katahdin

Summited the great Katadin on the first day it was open 1999. I was stuck in Millinocket for three days previous to the climb with four AT thru-hikers I had flip-flopped with. After the three days of rain and gear prep, we embarked not only for Katadin but to walk back to Atkins, VA. The climb was splendid with beautiful weather and lots of fun climbing around. Only a thousand more miles or so back to the Village Motel and the realization of a dream. (Only three out of the five of our group hiked the whole way- and I aquired a fiance on the way!)
