Mount Katahdin

This past summer, climbed Katahdin again. The first time I had climbed, the weather changed as we summitted, and the adults in the group decied to decend the shortest trail to Chimney Pond (CATHEDRAL! ) in the rain/sleet/snow. I was 11!!! and we were climbing with my sisters (8 and 5!)

The ascent was great (up ABOL) but what a descent. The worst was finally making it to the station and then having to hike another 3.3 out to roaring brook!

Being a Mainer, I loved it.

This summer, at 28, I ascended Cathedral (how the hell did we do down that in the 80's) and came down Saddle. Next year-Helon Taylor to knifes edge down Saddle.

Hike this if you haven't yet...its so beautiful, even if its only a mile high!
