Mount Whitney

Did this with (future) wife in one day. She says it is the most beautiful 14er she's been on. The scenery changes around every bend. One moment it's like a glacier, the next a wonderful mountain meadow, the next barren rock. Took us about 16 hours from our 8,000 foor campsite. Pack light but take layers & a water filter, and good flashlights (as you will start or finish in darkness). Next year want to take several friends.
