Description
Galatzó is a limestone mountain part of the Tramuntana mountain range. Galatzó is the highest peak on the western side of the Majorca Island, being isolated from the rest of the range. It can be climbed from Puigpunyent or Estellens, as a simple trek or more difficult rock climbing routes can be found. Although not a very tall mountain it presents a significant slope as from Estellens the climb starts almost at sea level. Occasionally snows in winter and can be covered by clouds coming from the sea any time of the year. On a clear day is possible to see most of the island from the top, reaching as far as the neighbouring island of Ibiza.
