Description
This peak starts from the Milner Pass trailhead in Rocky Mountain National Park. It soon climbs above tree line. The sign at the beginning which says it is 4 miles to the summit is false. With the shortest climb, it is 5.8 miles from the trailhead to the summit. You have a trail until you reach the foot of Mount Ida, and from there you must scramble across fingers of talus and boulderfields to reach the summit. Be very cautious of thunderstorms - much of the trail is above tree line, very high, and exposed. The view from the summit is absolutely breathtaking.
