Description
Located in the Wheeler Peak Wilderness, Lake Fork Peak can be reached easily in the summer months via Williams Lake Trail from Taos Ski Valley. Once at Williams Lake the summit can be reached by heading West; some scrambling may be required. In the winter months, however, snowshoes are required for crossing the deep snowfields and crampons and an ice axe are essential once above the treeline. The summit ridge can be followed around the Williams Lake Cwm to connect with Simpson Peak, Wheeler Peak, and Mount Walter. Further topographic information can be found on the "Wheeler Peak" USGS Quad.
