Description
Store Austanbotntind (also spelled Store Austanbotntinden) is the westernmost high peak in Norway. There are several ways to climb the mountain. The usual way is from Berdalsbandet (The road between Turtagroe and Oevre Aardal). Walk in north - eastern direction from the road. Follow the ridge to the western peak (2100 m.a.s.l.) Steep down to the glen between The Western and Store Austadbotntind. Further light climbing to the top (Rope is necessary). The view from the peak is very airy and powerful. Normal time 5 - 6 hours.
