Mount Meru

Extremely hot at low level, 40 deg. one day. Once off the plain into the bush, it's quite serene.Seen amazing variety of wildlife, unfortunately no elephant or leopard.Stunning scenery, crater wall and ashpit.Missed the sunrise owing to pushing straight for summit from saddle hut camp on the second day from early afternoon; compensations were being able to view panoramic view on way up.Covered final mile back to saddle hut in the dark, nice walk off to park gate on day three, again stunning wildlife.Excellent warm up for 'Kili.'
