Description
One of the best loved fells in the Lake District (and reportedly a favourite of Chris Bonnington!), Blencathra offers superb views and excellent fell walking. Highlights include two 'edges' to rival Striding Edge on Helvellyn:- Narrow Edge, approached from Threlkeld & Hall's Fell, and Sharp Edge reached from Scales. Both routes are excellent but care is needed if the edges are ice-bound.
