- Photo by Kevin RileyThe photo is of Maroon Bells at 6AM, September 26, 2003. My tripod was placed at the far end of the lake, on rocks that were placed in the shallow end. My intention was to catch the days first light as it touched the peak of Maroon Bells. There must have been 4-5 professional photographers at the same sight. I was there just for the fun of it, as most amateurs are. The photo was taken with my then new Nikon D100.

N Maroon is on the left with its peak in the shadow, Maroon is on the right. This is the same view of The Bells that you get from the summit of Snowmass, but this is closer.
