The photo is of Maroon Bells at 6AM, September 26, 2003. My tripod was placed at the far end of the lake, on rocks that were placed in the shallow end. My intention was to catch the days first light as it touched the peak of Maroon Bells. There must have been 4-5 professional photographers at the same sight. I was there just for the fun of it, as most amateurs are. The photo was taken with my then new Nikon D100.
The Maroon Bells are in the middle of the photo in the shadow. Pyramid Pk is the dark form behind The Bells & to the left. Taken Aug 30, 2007 from the summit of Snowmass Mtn. The view is over the top of Snowmass Pk the grey rock mass to the left side.
Taken Aug 29, 2008 from Led King Basin on the trail below Geneva Lake. Not the typical view as this is the backside. N Maroon is on the left with its peak in the shadow, Maroon is on the right. This is the same view of The Bells that you get from the summit of Snowmass, but this is closer.
Taken Aug 30, 2007 mid-morning, view is similar to the other photo from the summit of Snowmass Mtn. Maroon Pk is on the right with N Maroon just left of it, they have snow patches in the sun. Pyramid Pk is in the shadow on the right side of the photo.
