Longs Peak

Climbing Longs Peak via the Keyhole Route was the scariest, most spectacular, most physically challenging, most difficult thing my nephew and I had ever done. Mother nature turned our hike/climb into a rather treacherous experience - one that made us grateful to get back alive. It took 17.5 hours, but two middle-aged guys from the Midwest made it to the top of Colorado's Longs Peak! Check out our on-line trip report and journal. If you're considering a Longs attempt, be prepared! I can't emphasize that enough. There are a number of good books on the subject. Also, know that making it to the top will be one of the most memorable experiences of your life.
