Description
Kala Pattar (Khumbu region, Nepal) standing at 5545m asl. is a rocky outcrop against the background of Pumori. Standing on the peak, one can see the Everest range which includes Everest and Lhotse. A basic trekking peak at moderate altitude, nearest thing to a 'basecamp' is a few small huts in a region named Gorekshep (5100+m), on the way from Lukla to Everest Base Camp. Normal route taken to this peak will be via Lukla, Namche Bazaar, Periche, Lobuje and finally Gorekshep.
