James Peak Summit Log (#16099)
- Signed By: Chris Knight

This is an easy hike with no technical skills required provided you don't go up the (east) steep side. The drive up to the trailhead is on paved road. After a mile up the trail, there is nice scenery including a lake and St. Mary's "Glacier". It snowed (snow pellets) and rained. There was some thunder already by 11AM. Just like all climbs, be sure to get an early start and bring rain gear. It was cold (39F) and windy on the summit. When coming down, make sure you aim for the correct valley - the one with the rock mound by it.
