Description
Alamanzor is a beautiful and very areal peak in Gredos, a granitic mountain in an extinct glacial circle. Its name is due an Musulman King who invaded the Iberic peninsula in the Arab Occupation of Spain. Although it is relatively low in elevation, the surrounding landscape has a cold micro-climate that makes its summit in winter a very interesting ice climb. There are a lot of ice cascades to climb near the peak, two of the most important being "psychosis" and "P.M.T.F". The route starts in "la plataforma". Estimated time of the whole operation (Plataforma-Almanzor-Plataforma) is about nine hours.
