Description
With the altitude of 3314 m Rochers du Bouc is a nice rock raising above Lac de Dix, in the upper part of Val d' Heremence. It is usually not climbed for itself because the route to refuge Igloo des Pantalons Blancs (3280 m), and La Sale (3646 m) goes over the top of it. Yet it is a nice peak with beautiful views towards several mountains like M. Blanc de Cheilon, La Sale and Rosablanche, and surrounded by several huts [Igloo des Pantalons Blancs, La Barma (2458 m), Cabane des Ecoulaies (2575 m), Cabane de Prafleurie (2624 m)].
The best approach to all these huts and the peak is from Val d' Heremence, with a free car parking at the dam of Lax de Dix (2000 m). From the dam go along the west side of the lake towards La Barma and then directly up the rock, this all in less than 3 hours.
