Mauna Kea

My husband and I were not fit enough to climb, but wanted to experience this mountain. We took a tour with Hawaii Forest & Trail and acclimated for about 45 minutes at about 8,000 feet, which didn't help us much. The experience was truly awesome and I believe most people are not aware of the spiritual importance of the place. I do believe that many sites in this world have spiritual significance to many different people and I do not believe that the tourist world is aware of all of them. Treat all places with respect and all people with respect and you will be able to tread lightly everywhere.

My hsuband and I were really inspired by this place and we watched the stars that night through telescope and our own eyes. One of the highlights of our Hawaiian vacation.
