Beautiful climb up the Mesilau route however there is a bit of up and down.

One particular narrow ridge about 2600m altitude had cloud rushing over it through the cloud forest and it was breathtaking the array of Orchids Rhododendrons and Pitcher Plants is spectacular.

Higher up it began to rain and the temperature plummeted we finally made it to Laban Rata Hut the had some food and sleep before the 2am call for the summit.

The summit was one of the most amazing places I have ever experienced the shadow of the mountain at sunrise is a black pyramid that stretches past the coastline perhaps 100+km.

The trek down is very hard on the legs.
