Erzgebirge

The Erzgebirge (literally, "Ore Mountains") is a mountain range that extends along the border between Saxony in Germany and Bohemia in today's Czech Republic. As the name suggests, the region has a rich mining history, dating back to the 15th century. The highest peaks of the Erzgebirge are located in both countries, in the western portion of the range.
